The main purpose for this site is stated in the introductory paragraph on the home page. I hope the articles and other information is of benefit to you in your walk with Jesus. New articles are posted on Fridays approximately every two weeks, and Insight newsletters are posted quarterly, so check back with us.

Let me tell you a little about The Church at Canoe Creek and the path God has us on.

We are a small congregation of simple, friendly people.  We have no affiliated with any denomination, but are simply a part of the Body of Christ.

Our worship services are not rigid, but are orderly. They consist of a mix of contemporary songs of praise and traditional hymns, scripture readings, prayer, and biblical teaching of the Word of God.

In December of 1998 God set us on a path of seeking to become a truly Bible based Spirit led church. Today's modern church looks nothing like the church in the Bible. We realize that a lot has changed in the almost two thousand years since the church was first established. But some things that should not have changed are: a genuine relationship with Jesus, pursuit of a godly life, a biblically based leadership structure, and the Word of God being the final authority in all matters of life and faith.

Through His Apostles, Jesus established the structure, purpose, method and mission of His church. He left us a model in the Bible. We are striving to return to the pattern and purpose Jesus gave. We believe that is the only way to be truly successful, as God defines success.

We have committed in Christ Jesus to build "A Place To Call Home," where everyone is welcome, loved, spiritually edified, and equipped for the work of the Gospel. We are committed to sound biblical teaching and living. Our objective is to develop, individually and collectively, an intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It's not that we have already attained all this, but we press on toward the goal.

We refuse to "play church" and bring reproach on the name of Jesus. God is real and alive. He desires a living relationship with us. We were designed and created for this very purpose. There is no goal in life more important than knowing our Creator and Savior.

Though this path is narrow and there are few who are willing to walk it, we see no other option if we are to be faithful to Christ and obedient to the Word of God.
